Sanju K S · Youth climate leader & community builder
I build programmes and communities that turn ideas into action.
I work at the intersection of climate action, education, and entrepreneurship—helping young people and communities across Kerala and India turn climate ideas into practical action.
How local climate knowledge becomes local action.
01 / Selected work
A few places where the ideas meet the real world.
My work sits across programmes, partnerships, and communities. These are the strands I’m most interested in developing, documenting, and learning from.
Kerala Climate Shield
A climate resilience initiative in Kerala focused on awareness, capacity building, partnerships, and practical weather-monitoring tools.
National Youth Climate Consortium
Connecting youth climate leaders across India, supporting youth-led climate action chapters, and building partnerships between grassroots networks, institutions, and government.
Climate Learning & Action Hub
A pilot climate action programme I designed and ran with interactive workshops and leadership activities: 85 youth engaged directly, 650+ people reached through schools and communities.
Climate education & Verukal Camp
A school climate education programme with SN Girls’ School, Kanimangalam, connecting climate science with local realities, plus a two-day hands-on camp.
Learnesta
An education startup with a dual-teacher model that prepared students for central university entrance: 124 students from the 2021 batch reached universities including JNU, DU, and HCU.
02 / In practice
People, rooms, and ideas in motion.
Some of the work happens in workshops, classrooms, and conversations: sharing ideas, facilitating learning, and making space for people to think together.
03 / Ideas & observations
Thinking out loud, learning in public.
I want to write about the questions that keep coming up while building programmes and communities—not just the polished outcomes, but the choices and lessons behind them.
Why awareness alone rarely creates action
Awareness matters, but people also need confidence, practical pathways, support, and opportunities to act.

Explore the guide ↗I’m drawn to the space between a good idea and its implementation.
Across climate action, education, youth engagement, and entrepreneurship, I enjoy bringing people together, coordinating programmes, and building the practical structure that helps collective efforts move forward.
I’m especially interested in the questions that emerge during implementation: How do we make learning lead to action? What helps a community stay engaged? How can a partnership become more than a meeting? And what needs to be in place for a promising idea to work in the real world?
This website is my space to document that journey: the work I contribute to, the thinking behind it, and the lessons I’m still learning.
Start with reality
Understand the context before deciding what a solution should look like.
Build with people
Bring the right people into the process and make collaboration practical.
Learn by doing
Use implementation as a source of evidence, reflection, and improvement.

How climate education, reliable weather information, and local capacity can come together to help communities make better-informed decisions.
Documenting lessons from climate education and youth engagement, improving the way I share practical resources, and developing Kerala Climate Shield’s story in more detail.
